The history
The newly built basement of the siblings Georg, Nora and Hans Peter HEUBERGER is located in an idyllic landscape with a dream view of the vineyards on the Hochkogel and far into neighboring Hungary. The wine-growing tradition of our Kellerstöckl, which goes back five generations, is located at 345 m above sea level. In the past, when farmers still had to do compulsory labor for the aristocratic landowners, small farmers were allowed to cultivate their own wine, their “house drink”, for their own use.
At that time, small, solid log buildings, plastered with clay and covered with straw, were built, mostly on a sloping hillside in the middle of the vineyard, and served as workrooms and wine cellars for the wine. After work, grandfather sat on the bench in front of his wine cellar in the sun, drew his pipe, drank his own house wine and let his gaze wander over the landscape. The view "obn oba" was and is simply stunning. After modernization in viticulture, the Kellerstöckl were too small, were abandoned and fell into oblivion. So also the Heuberger wine cellar.
In 2020, however, the three Heuberger siblings came up with the idea of waking this aging wine cellar from its slumber and turning it into modern holiday accommodation.
Under the expert guidance of the architect Dipl-Ing Georg Marterer, the old and worth preserving property was restored and converted into a holiday home with a lot of commitment, feeling and passion remains.
The Heuberger Kellerstöckl offers a special holiday oasis with today's luxury. Furnished to measure by the carpenter, with great attention to detail and warmth. This chic chalet offers space for two to six people on two floors and can be rented all year round thanks to a wood-burning stove.

The Heuberger family's Kellerstöckl is located outside the center of Eltendorf - in the middle of nature - in the so-called "Uhudlerviertel" on the Eltendorfer Hochkogel. In the village look for the soccer field, which is located in the direction of Kukmirn and is signposted. Leave the sports field on the left and follow the road up the hill. Your arrival first leads through a beautiful forest. Shortly afterwards you leave the deciduous forest and come to a clearing with a few family houses. You have now reached the Eltendorfer Hochkugel and can discover the Kellerstöckl in front of you on the slope. Stay straight and follow the road. Keep slightly to the right. Our Kellerstöckl bears the house number 41 and impresses with its panorama window made of glass, which offers a fantastic view over the vineyards of southern Burgenland.
